Substance Abuse Support
Reaching out for help with substance abuse isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a step toward strength. The healing journey begins when you decide your future is worth fighting for. You don’t have to face this alone—support is there for you, one step at a time.

If you are looking for a safe place to learn and grow, I am here to help.

With over 23 years in social services, social justice, and substance use support, and as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) since 2004, I’ve helped many individuals find their path toward healing. You’re not alone in this journey—let’s take that first step forward, together.

In a safe, open space, we can explore and unravel what’s keeping you from where you want to be. I’m here to support you in breaking free from those stuck places and moving toward your best self. Whether you’re a child, teen, or adult, I work individually or with families, using an integrative approach tailored to each person’s unique needs. Together, we’ll use tools from solution-focused brief therapy and cognitive behavioral approaches to guide your progress forward.

A Path to Recovery: Understanding and Choosing the Right Treatment for Substance Use Disorder

Recovery from substance use disorder is a deeply personal journey, and there are many pathways to healing. At New Horizons Counseling Center, we recognize that no two individuals are the same, and the journey to recovery varies from person to person. That’s why we offer a variety of treatment options, including outpatient counseling, intensive outpatient services, medication-assisted treatment, residential treatment, and support groups. Our goal is to empower individuals to find lasting freedom from substance use and build a fulfilling, substance-free life.
With so many treatment options available, finding the right one can feel overwhelming. Each program is designed to meet the unique needs of each person, accounting for their specific circumstances, co-occurring mental health conditions, trauma, or social challenges. We believe in a comprehensive approach that not only addresses substance use but also explores underlying behaviors and thought patterns that may contribute to it.
If you or a loved one is struggling with substance use, we understand that reaching out for help can be a challenging first step. But recovery is achievable, and you don’t have to face it alone. Our licensed counselor specializes in recovery and is here to work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. Together, we can navigate the path to healing and provide the compassionate support you need on your journey to sobriety.
Exploring Treatment Options

Residential Substance Use Treatment
Residential treatment offers an immersive, structured environment where individuals stay on-site at a treatment facility, typically for a period dictated by insurance coverage. These stays can range from a few days to several weeks, depending on individual needs. Residential programs provide intensive therapeutic support, including individual, group, and family therapy, as well as medical and psychiatric care. In a supportive, structured setting, patients can focus fully on their recovery without external distractions.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers robust care and support while allowing patients to remain in their communities. IOPs typically involve several hours of treatment during the day for multiple days a week, ideal for individuals transitioning from residential or partial hospitalization programs. This step-down approach helps ease individuals back into their routines while maintaining the support needed for a successful recovery.
Outpatient Treatment
Outpatient treatment at New Horizons Counseling Center provides flexible, supportive care that allows individuals to continue their daily responsibilities. Our licensed therapist will work collaboratively with you to set treatment goals and create an individualized plan tailored to your recovery journey. We’ll meet weekly to address these goals, connect you with community resources, and empower you with the tools needed for a sustainable, substance-free life.
If you’re ready to take the next step, New Horizons is here to walk with you on the path to recovery. Reaching out for help is an act of courage, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
